Do you have a passion for biotechnology, microbiology and sustainability? Come join us at PHOTANOL and help us revolutionizing the chemical sector by making it circular and responsible. To achieve our mission, we have developed a sustainable chemical compound production technology based on optimized cyanobacteria, which enables us to turn CO₂ into renewable chemicals leaving fossil fuels in the ground.

We are currently looking for microbiology and/or biotechnology students (M/F/X) interested in joining our Upscaling Team.

Your responsibilities:

cultivating cyanobacteria in a range of
photobioreactors, from bench to pilot scale;
contributing to find creative and sustainable
solutions to solve contamination issues;
testing of PHOTANOL’s modified strains on stability
and productivity,
executing daily microbiological laboratory activities.

You find yourself in the following:

background in microbiology or biotechnology (BSc level);
good microbiology laboratory practice;
practical experience with cultivation of Cyanobacteria / Algae
at bench and/or pilot scale would be highly appreciated;
ability to work independently;
good reporting and writing skills in English;
available for a minimum of 6 months.

About PHOTANOL

We are a young and ambitious biotech company, that has developed a sustainable chemical compound production technology enabling us to turn CO₂ into renewable chemicals.

Our production technology is based on the modification of different cyanobacteria strains. Through photosynthesis, those modified cyanobacteria absorb CO₂ to produce the desired carbon compound of choice in our special tube installations.
After being processed, those renewable carbon compounds can be used to create circular products e.g. plastics, personal care products and detergents, or even biofuel.
